IBPS - Institute of Banking Personnel Selection

IBPS is an Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, that started operating in 1975 as Personal Selection Services, a unit of National Institute of Bank Management. In 1984, this unit became an independent entity as IBPS. The chairman of the governing board was Dr. Manmohan Singh at that time. The main objective of this institute is recruitment, promotion and providing placements of suitable candidates for public sector banks. For this purpose, IBPS announces Common Written Examination (CWE) for the selection of Officers and Clerks. The recruitment process includes two or three stages.

IBPS is an associate member of Indian Banks Associations (IBA) and also recognized as a centre for guiding scholars for Ph.D. in management by SNDT university. It conducts training for its clients in the areas of interviewing skills and observation skills and provides consulting services to its client banks that help in enriching their human resources and talent capabilities.

Job Opportunities through IBPS Exam

IBPS-PO/ MT - This exam is designed for Junior Management Level Direct Entry for graduates. Bank PO is the much favorite career option for young graduates. IBPS conducts the common written exam every year in major cities of the country and recruits around 1000 plus probationary officers depending on the requirement. The eligibility of IBPS CWE PO Exam is a graduate degree in any stream with computer literacy. Candidate holding between 20-30 years age can apply for the exam.


IBPS Clerical - IBPS-CWE Clerical is held annually to recruit the clerical cadre in Public Sector Banks and Other Financial Institutions generally as Clerk, Agricultural Clerks, Typist (English), Typist (English and Hindi), Clerk-cum-Cashier, Telephone Operators, Steno (English), Steno (Hindi), Steno (English and Hindi). IBPS RRB - IBPS RRB CWE consist of multiple positions i.e Officer Scale-I, Scale-II & Scale-III. There are also specialist officer positions like Chartered Accountant, I.T. Officer, Law Officer, Marketing Officer, Agriculture Officer. In clerical cadre, Office Assistant positions are also being recruited.


IBPS Specialist Officer - IBPS Specialist Officer CWE consist of multiple positions i.e IT Officers (Scale I), Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I), Agricultural Field Officers (Scale I), HR / Personnel Officers (Scale I), Law Officers (Scale I) and Marketing Officers (Scale I). Willing candidate should be an Indian citizen and must fall in the age bracket of 18 to 30 years. Candidate must have completed four year Engineering Degree in relevant discipline/ Graduation Degree/ Degree in law/ Post Graduate in Hindi/ Full time MBA or other higher qualification in relevant discipline.
